The Zillergrund
The source valley of the upper Zillertal
The Zillergrund, with a length of almost 20 kilometers, is located in the east. This side valley extends from the Austrian-Italian border to Mayrhofen and is called the Zillergründl in the upper part. There is also a reservoir of the same name here, which is 3 kilometers long. On the main ridge of the Zillertal over the Heilig-Geist-Jöchl, there is a high alpine crossing into the Ahrntal. Via the toll road, you can reach this spectacular landscape by car, motorcycle, or bus.
